Vietnam Govt Allows Imports of 100,000 MT of Salt in 2012

Vietnam’s February Coffee Loading to Rise as Prices Gain

February 15, 2012 (Vietnamica) — Vietnam’s coffee export loading in February is expected to rise to between 120,000-150,000 tons, or 2 million to 2.5 million 60-kg bags, as exporters cash in on price gains. Coffee exports plunged nearly 48 percent in January from a year ago to 112,000 tons because of the Tet new year festival and as farmers held back beans in the expectation of higher prices later. Vinamilk Keeps Its Export Growth

February 14, 2012 (Vietnamica) — Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) has announced that its export value hit a record high of US$22.3 million in January 2012, up five times against the same month of last year. Of the products, condensed milk increased by 33 times in revenue, yogurt by 1.87 times, Ridielac nutrition powder by two times, fresh milk by four times and Dielac powdered milk by four times.

Vietnam Exports Organic Rice to U.S.

Vietnam’s Prime Minister Adjudicates Land Confiscation in Tien Lang

February 11, 2012 (Vietnamica) – Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Friday chaired a meeting with officials from relevant central agencies and the port city of Hai Phong to adjudicate on the coercive land confiscation carried out by Tien Lang district authorities on Jan. 5. Participants to the meeting included leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Justice, the Government Inspectorate, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Việt Nam Fatherland Front and the Farmers’ Union.
