April 6, 2012 (Vietnamica) – In addition toSong Da Holdings’ wrongdoings, State Inspectorate concludes that tens of thousands of Vietnamese dongs were spent incorrectly by PetroVietnam. The Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung officially agrees on the conclusion. For example, PVN has spent retained earnings of US$743 million (VND15,600 billion) on financial investments out of the conglomerate’s core businesses. Vietnam’s Global South JSC Signed Gold Exploration Contract in Laos

March 16, 2012 (Vietnamica) – A gold exploration contract was signed by Lao Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Bounthavi Sisouphanthong and representative of Vietnamese Global South Joint Stock company Cu Thanh Tien on Mar 15 in Vientiane. The gold exploration will be carried out in an area of 24 square kilometres in Xangthong district, Vientiane city. To mark the occasion, the mining company donated US$40,000 to build five charity houses for Lao war veterans (VNS, Mar 16).
